October Recap: Dust, Grit & Good Company

October came in with sawdust in the air and a good kind of tired. The kind you earn after long days, full trailers, and clean sites.

We’ve been out and about pruning, shaping, removing, chipping, grinding, planning, planting... Keeping pace with the season as it starts to turn.

Lush vineyard with rows of green trees under a cloudy sky, scattered branches on the ground, and mountains in the background.

Big Work, Big Trees

We spent a solid stretch in Stanford tackling a line of mature beefwoods.

Controlled removals, chipping, stump grinding...The full monty!

A few days later, the crew headed out to a farm just outside Greyton for something on a different scale; the felling and bucking of 71 beefwoods.

One day of rhythm and teamwork. No drama, no wasted motion. Just focus.

Golf Club Prep: 250 Trees Incoming

Andre made a stop at Hermanus Golf Club to mark out the planting holes for when those 250 trees we delivered a few weeks ago will start finding their new homes. Watch this space! It’s going to be one of those legacy projects we’ll all remember.

Trees on the Move: Noetzie

We were back in Noetzie, this time to relocate a few trees.

Careful work, measured roots, steady hands.

There’s something special about moving trees instead of removing them.

Feels good to leave a site knowing life’s still standing, just in a better place.

Giveaway Wrapped

Our Vadersberg Giveaway finished up this month! Huge thanks to everyone who joined in. This one taught us a few lessons: the best giveaways aren’t the flashiest, they’re the ones that bring people in for the right reasons. Community over clicks. Always.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for our next giveaway! 👀

Crew Time

We started the final quarter with something simple: a braai, boerie rolls, and a bit of a breather. No ropes, no harnesses, no noise. Just the team hanging out, swapping stories, and laughing about the year that was.

Those slow days count too.

A sunny day with a clear blue sky over a suburban landscape. Green hedges, a pool, and a ladder are in the foreground; rooftops and distant fields lie beyond.

🌿 Summer Tip: Heat’s Coming

November’s warmth always sneaks up.

A few reminders before it really kicks in:

  • Water deep, not often.

Let it soak through, not just skim the surface.

  • Check your trees after the wind.

Look for cracks, stress lines, or dead limbs before summer storms test them.

Small checks now can save a lot later.

Client Feedback That Made Us Smile:

"Can you do a VERY careful job for me?”

“Yes ma’am!”

Are you SURE?”

“Yes ma’am!”

Although not our exact words, the initial conversation went along the above lines.

I needed a very tall dead tree removed. I was mostly concerned though, that the many young trees growing below and around the tall tree would be damaged in the process.

The team from Overberg Arborists delivered skillfully on their promise.

When they’d left, the only person who noticed that any activity had taken place, was a happy little Olive Thrush, busily (and gratefully) pecking away at an (ever so slightly) scuffed up woodland path.

Thanks guys, for a very careful and neat job!

I’m happy." -Avril Eley

🌿🌳😁

"Great service - after planting our adult waterpear trees about 18 month ago, Overberg Arborists have been back to fertilize and prune them for optimal growth and health. They planted massive trees in the back of my property after lifting it with a crane over the house. It was a sight to see! Not a scratch on the house and the trees are thriving:) Communication is excellent - They are always just a WhatsApp away with questions I have concerning tree or plant health. I cannot recommend them enough." -Andries van Schalkwyk

That's A Wrap!

October carried that blend of grit and gratitude; tough jobs, clean finishes, and time to reset before the final run of the year.

Two months to go, and we’re ready for them.

Clean cuts, steady hands, and good company; that’s always the goal.

See you in November. ✌🏻🌳
