November Recap: Eucs, Yuccas & End-of-Year Energy

November came in hot, saws humming, dust flying, and no signs of slowing down.

The crew’s been all over the Overberg this month, wrapping big jobs, taking on new ones, and somehow still finding time to run a race.

Hazard Clearing near McGregor 🌳

We kicked off the month with a proper challenge: hazard clearing of around 12 Eucalyptus globulus trees around a camp near McGregor.

Big frames, tight spaces, calm hands.

It was one of those jobs that tests coordination and trust, and the crew delivered.

Tall palm trees with spiky green leaves line a path beside a white building. Clear blue sky and dry grass create a serene, tropical scene.

Yuccas & Boomslange near Bredasdorp 🐍

Next up, a farm just outside Bredasdorp. The crew removed about 15 Yucca trees.

A few days earlier, the client had spotted boomslange moving through them, so there was a bit of extra adrenaline in the mix.

Luckily, the snakes had moved on by the time we arrived, but we kept our eyes open anyway.

By the end of the day, the space was clear and the client could breathe easy again.

Onrus: Remove One, Plant One 🌱

In Onrus, we had one of those full-circle projects.

Remove a tree safely. Then plant a new one in its place. Simple, meaningful, and exactly the kind of work that keeps us grounded.

There’s something special about leaving a site knowing life goes back in where one stood before.

Die Vlakte 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Somehow, between all of that, Andre and Shelby still found time to take part in Die Vlakte.

Because apparently, tree work all week isn’t enough cardio.

This team doesn’t sit still for long, and that’s exactly how we like it.

We said "see you later" to an OA legend </3

Man in uniform stands confidently with arms crossed in a lush, wooded area, wearing a green cap. "Harry" is embroidered on his shirt.

We also said goodbye to Barry this month, and if you know him, you know he doesn’t do anything halfway.

Good energy, steady graft, cracking jokes at the perfect moment.

We’re going to miss having him around, but we’re amped for what he’s chasing next.

Barry, you legend. Go smash it.

Summer Tip: Keep Trees Cool

Summer’s here in full force. A few reminders from the field:

  • Water early mornings or evenings. Midday watering just steams off.

  • Mulch matters. Keeps moisture in, roots cool, and weeds down.

  • Check cables, ties, and stakes. Growth surges now can strain them fast.

Small care, big difference.

Wrapping Up

November had it all, big trees, bigger stories, and a few goodbyes.

We’re rolling straight into December with full hearts, sore hands, and a lot to look forward to.

Thanks for following along this far.

Next month’s shaping up to be a strong finish.

See you under the summer sun. ✌🏻🌳
