August pulled no punches. New equipment, big jobs, road trips, and the kind of momentum that makes us excited for what’s next. Winter tried to hang around, but the first signs of spring started to creep in — and we leaned into it.
Here’s what went down:

Stump Grinder: First Day on the Job
We started the month in Baardskeerdersbos, with a garden full of old stumps that had been waiting for the right tool.
Perfect timing, because our brand-new stump grinder had just joined the fleet.
Now, if you’ve ever dealt with stumps, you know they’re more than an eyesore. They trip people up, mess with lawnmowers, and worst of all, they can start sending up shoots like some zombie tree that refuses to die.
Grinding solves that. Roots break down naturally, no regrowth, no hazards.
Our client gave us free rein to clear the lot, and by the end of the day, her garden looked like a clean slate. The grinder got its proper test run - and passed with flying colours.

Greyton: Two Days, One Chipper, A Lot of Branches
Next stop: Greyton.
Two days of pure tree work with our chipper running full tilt.
Greyton always keeps us on our toes with big properties and clients who want things not just tidy, but right.
This is where the chipper earns its keep. Instead of dragging branches offsite, we turn them into mulch on the spot, great for gardens, water retention, and weed control.
What looks like waste becomes a resource.
Cape Town Road Trip: We've Been Keeping an Exciting Secret 🤫
Andre and Shelby headed to Cape Town for a different kind of mission: hand-picking trees for the upcoming Hermanus Golf Club tree planting project.
Now, not all trees are created equal. When we source, we don’t just take what’s in stock. We check for straight leaders, strong root systems, and species that actually belong in the space long-term.
Planting the right tree, the right way, in the right place - that’s how you set up a project that lasts decades, not just a few seasons.
The trees arrive in early September, and we’ll be documenting the entire journey. This one’s going to be something special.

Giveaway Wrapped - What’s Next
Our UPAT giveaway wrapped this month, and it was a huge success.
We had loads of entries, tons of engagement, and a very happy winner heading into spring with new gear in hand.
And if you’re into getaways (who isn’t?), you’ll want to keep your notifications on.
Something fresh is coming, and you’ll be tagging your friends before you can say “weekend road trip.” 🤪
What Clients Said That Made Us Smile 🫶🏻
"Contacted them via their online portal, they arranged a video call with me so they could see what we needed to have done, gave a clear and quick quote, and arrived on time, with a full and professional team. Friendly and efficient.
Will definitely use them in the future. Lovely to get people who deliver on their promises. Soo rare these days. Five stars all the way." - Regardt Maritz
"Wow! What a tree-mendous (excuse the pun 😁) effort by the team to fit us into their already busy schedule, deliver quotes with a smile, and then bring the most capable, friendly and awesome team to do the job quickly and neatly! We were blown away by the speed, professionalism and expertise in tackling a difficult tree removal. Thank you! I would definitely highly recommend Overberg Arborists." - Natalie Bosman

🌸 Spring Tips: Get Ahead!
Winter’s loosening its grip, and spring is basically knocking at the door.
For tree owners, that means:
Pruning: Early spring is perfect for trimming back deadwood and shaping before growth kicks in. It keeps energy flowing to strong branches instead of wasted ones.
Planting: Soil is still cool and moist, which helps roots establish fast. Plant now, and you’ll have thriving trees by summer.
Watering: Rain tapers off quickly in the Overberg. Don’t assume your trees are fine — give young or stressed trees a deep soak once a week.
Mulching: Remember those chips from Greyton? Use them. Mulch keeps moisture in, weeds out, and soil temperatures steady.
A little attention now saves a lot of problems later.

That’s August.
New machines, big jobs ticked off, and the groundwork set for September.
Spring’s here — time to get moving.
